Before:
I still have smallish boys, so to go along with the crayons I bought this giant sized coloring book for them:
Imagine if you will a 2' x 4' Sponge Bob. (help!)
After:
Where were these when my kids were smaller?!? I bought some yesterday just to see how they worked and I LOVE them! They glide on smoothly, they don't break, the paper doesn't peel away. And...they come in these cool colors too:

I also broke down and bought these:
I outlawed markers several years ago after finding intricate pictures drawn on the walls, cabinets and carpet, but now that my youngest is 7, I'm feeling brave. We've spent the better part of the last two days coloring, but we seem to be running out of yellow.
Hmmm, can't figure that one out...

Great tip Mindy. I love the new idea of crayons. Looks a whole lot easier and cleaner.
SpongeBob has been sponging the yellow huh?
the twistables also don't melt as easily in the car. My kids are still not ready to be unsupervised with markers.
I'm liking your pink layout.
They look great.
That big coloring book would be so fun.
i loved them, bought them, and watched as my boys twisted them all the way up and broke them off, one by one. They can't be used after that, btw...
Maybe when MY youngest is 7 I'll try them again!
I miss you!!!!!!!!!
Twistables are fab! Unfortunately my toddlers figured out how to disassemble them and break them into bits. Maybe they're old enough to try again now...
Love the new header!
You are such a cool mom for having that huge Spongebob coloring book! And I also have a thing with markers in my house. Too many things doodled on!
I haven't had crayons for years. Bebito has a new Thomas coloring book that he calls his "journal", but the poor kid uses a pencil. He hasn't complained yet, but I felt so bad yesterday and told him I would buy him some crayons. Maybe I'll try these kinds this time.
i'm with kimberly. i got those twistables a couple of years back and my kids just figured out how to break them faster. with that being said, my oldest are the same age as your youngest and this was a few years back.
as for markers, i finally had to relegate them to the homeschool cupboard. as it is i will only buy washables, but the baby has radar for them, finds them, and then draws all over herself with them until she looks like a harley woman.
I love your header-so fallish. I might have to check out those crayons. We do have markers around here, but I think they may be outlawed as I did buy the Magic Eraser for one little incident involving marker.

I love your new Fall Blog look! :)
I just heard about the window markers from Crayola. I cannot wait to get some. We have loved our twistables. The not melting point is an excellent one.
